Little Falls Family Medical Center

When complete the updated Family Medical Center in Little Falls, MN will be a welcoming and safe place for both patients and staff alike, and will significantly expand the services available to the community. In partnership with Physicians Realty Trust, Synergy Design Studio and BDH, Timco Construction broke ground on this exciting project back in November, 2018. The 17-month project will consolidate all family medical services into one central facility, while also accommodating the need for future expansion. Work on the project includes a 17,000 SF, two-story building addition and parking lot expansion, as well as a 48,000 SF interior renovation. The Little Falls Family Medical Center project will add twenty-seven exam rooms, three procedure rooms, and expanded space for consultations.

With excessive rain in 2019, followed by extreme winter conditions, the Timco project team was determined to complete exterior work. Through constant and consistent communication with subcontracting partners, the Timco team was successfully able to adjust the schedule to account for weather delays completing all exterior work on-time. Work included a new main entrance, located on the west side of the building, which features a two-story glass atrium creating a less clinical, more welcoming aesthetic.

With a focus on minimizing disruption throughout the project, work has been completed in phases allowing operations to continue. Throughout the project the team has needed to maintain patient and staff access both through the clinic and to and from the adjoining St. Gabriel’s Hospital. With a focus on safety and patient privacy, temporary entrances and patient walkways have been constructed and utilized in areas under construction.

With focus, flexibility and hard work in late October, the new second-floor clinic space was reopened. Now housing the surgery department, family obstetricians, OBGYN and pediatric services the new space has already begun to increase efficiency while support both primary care and specialty providers.

Work on the first floor is scheduled to be complete by March 16^th and will include convenient access for patients to family medicine, a walk-in clinic and pharmacy. Additional amenities to the Little Falls Family Medical Center include space for patient and wellness education.

The project is moving along smoothly with completion scheduled for mid-March.
