Construction Continues on the New Health Center for Planned Parenthood in Uptown

This past spring, in partnership with Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS), Davis and BDH Design, Timco Construction broke ground on a new state-of-the-art health center. Located on 1210 Lagoon Avenue in Minneapolis, the new three-story, 58,400-square-foot clinic will expand the healthcare and education services Planned Parenthood provides allowing them to serve three times as many patients in the area.

Currently five months into construction, the project is on track to be completed in July of 2020. The building foundation is complete and precast column beams and decking are ongoing. Structural steel will begin the week of November 18th. When finished the $14 million healthcare facility will feature a modern façade with a glassed-in lobby and large, round windows along one side. Work includes a 51-stall, at and below grade, indoor parking garage as well as a 24-stall surface parking lot.

“We are honored to be a part of this project that will advance Planned Parenthood’s ability to provide education and women’s healthcare services to Minneapolis patients,” stated Tim McKee, President of Timco Construction.

During construction of the new space, service to patients continues just two blocks away at 918 W Lake Street.

Additional project partners include: Gilbert Mechanical Contractors, Axel H. Ohman Concrete & Masonry, Minneapolis Glass Company, Stern Drywall, and Julian M Johnson Construction Corporation. Thank you for your continued hardwork and dedication to making this project a success.
