The new 54,000 SF, 3-story clinic, built for Planned Parenthood, provides a welcoming environment to help ensure patients feel comfortable and supported. The new clinic has a modern facade with expansive floor to ceiling windows allowing an abundance of natural light to flood into common areas. Large circular windows help create a friendly/urban tone and seamlessly transition spaces from the interior of the clinic into the uptown neighborhood emphasizing the clinics focus on community and inclusivity. The new facility also fosters both education and outreach with the inclusion of expansive collaboration and educational spaces for use by both staff and patients alike.
Designed by BDH and Synergy Architecture Studio, additional unique features include natural maple wood panels with inset linear lights illuminating the 3-story glass elevator lobbies. The designers also incorporated way-finding for patients by changing flooring and paint colors. Almost triple the size of the former uptown clinic, the new health center is complete with high-tech communication capabilities allowing clinic functions to consolidate to this one centralized location. With expanded capacity the project also accommodated the need for more parking with a 51-stall, at and below-grade, indoor parking garage and a 24-stall surface parking lot.
